Get In My Closet!

I think this leopard print Balloon Sleeve Silk Blouse is the cat's meow. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it here. You know they can be very hit or miss.

Grid Art

I'm not sure if that's the proper name for this art installation but I do like it. I love it's natural scenery and that it's done in muted tones. It lends to a serene feel.

Actually, I love everything about the styling of the landing. That stair runner is so freakin' gorgeous and that traditional armchair grounds the look.

Pregnant In Heels

I was talking with a friend today about babies and such. The conversation lingered long after we ended our phone call. I began to ponder, "what if?"

What if we decided to have a baby? Along with happiness and joy of being with child.... I would totally be pregnant in heels and a fashionable haute mama!

In that vein, there would be no duckies on a nylon diaper bags for me. THIS supple piece of leather goodness, would be the diaper bag of choice.

London Shopper Classic Diaper Bag

I just love this bag. I would totally rock it now sans pregnancy and use the bottle holders to stash my Lemonade in.

This one is super cute, too.

New Nursery

How darling is this nursery? It belongs to the soon to be delivered twins of Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey.
I love it's soothing colors. How sweet is that giraffe in the corner?

Nom! Nom! Nom! - NOT!

I'm currently doing the Master Cleanse detox because my emotional eating has gotten so outta control. Life has been particularly stressful as of late.. and sugary snacks and carb loaded foods have been my constant friends...along with my favorite libation.. Moscato. Also I haven't been exercising. Let's just say my leather jackets are beginning to get stretch marks. So not cute.

I've just started the Cleanse, which has served me well in the past to jumpstart good eating habits and curbing my cravings for junk food. Weight loss is a great by product of the detox, so my clothes will thank me.

I'm 2 days in and feeling good..  Then I just HAD to come across THIS:

Lamb Meatball Banh Mi Sandwich
Why, Why, WHY???

Pretty Pool Side

I want a pool...

 with a Cabana

I met with a rep from Viking Pools to get an idea of what it would cost. I'm waiting to get the proposal back.

I really love the idea of a fiberglass pool because they can get the pool in the ground in one day! The pool is fiberglass and is already to go. Just dig a hole and pop the pool in!

Everyone tells me to take our time to get the house they way we want it.. and while I can understand the sentiment, I want to fully enjoy our house pronto. But I do know everything will, realistically, take place over a few years. BOO!

However, should we get a monetary windfall, it's ON like Donkey Kong!

Feeling Sentimental

My hubby found the original, well probably not the original, original but the listing for our house when it was listed in 2008. We had never seen it before so it was great to see the house when it first went on the market back then (it was in such GREAT condition) and we finally saw some of the historical info about the house.

Here are the great photos from the listing. WAY better than my crappy photos.

Does anyone know what style of house this is?

Here is the listing:

"Meticulously restored to its 19th Century Grandeur, this 6 bedroom, 3 full bath showpiece boasts 3 full floors, a total of 13 rooms and 5 fireplaces. New designer kitchen with soapstone counters, terra cotta floors and top of the line stainless steel appliances. A home of rare and historical distinction, truly is the original Field house built in the 1880s by Charles Field a noted carpenter and member of the prominent Field family dating back to the early 18th Century. This treasure of a home also boasts a recent exterior paint job of impeccable detail, a newer roof, a new fence lining the property across the huge double lot backyard and along the carriage house, a detached 2-car garage, period Kentucky bluestone slate patio and walkways, plus a professionally-landscaped setting for a utopia all your own."

I'm going to print out this information and put it in an album. It's sentimental.

Wowzers!

pic

The front of this house leaves me speechless! If I could build a house right now, the front would look just like this.

That curved staircase to the second floor veranda... OMG!!!

I would love to see this home's interior. Anyone know more about this house?

Fab Sofa

I'm moving on from the living room furniture to the family room... and that means, "cheating on fashion with furniture".  I just saw SATC 2 and loved that line!! You may hear that alot around these parts.. maybe..

Anywhoo, I'm still deciding if we are going to keep the built-ins. We lose about 18" of floor space in the family room with the current book-shelving:

So, that means any furniture that we put in there will be that much closer to the fireplace and feeling cramped in there, I think.

Although, I just wanted to add a couple of club chairs and a table and lamp and call it a day.. I know that really won't bode well because we host our family and friends at our house, ALOT and where would everyone gather and sit? I think a sectional is in order and I LOVE this one!!
Linea Sectional

It's fabulous.. love the charcoal velvety fabric, the nailheads, even the throw pillows that come with it. The overall style is the bees knees. It's glam without being feminine.. (can masculine be glam??)

I mean after all, my husband will be living in the house too and I want there to be a balance. My hubby says that the house decor is a woman's domain and I can decorate anyway I want but I care about having a house that has a nice mix of feminine and masculine. I think this sectional is a great start.

Fab Outdoor Room

LOVING THIS!!
Tapas and margaritas anyone?

I know it's a little over the top but I would love this lounge-y setup for a baby shower. Most of the events I have are usually intimate and this would be perfect.... perfectly ME!!!

Of course we would need tables for comfort of my guest for dining on tasty viddles and this would be... again perfect!

All fab photos from Trista Lerit.

I know the baby shower inspiration doesn't scream "BABY SHOWER!!" and that's how I like it. Fab and chic and not typical.

*nope not preggers but a notorious planner*
